Ormsary Farms

Ormsary Estate is situated on the very west coast of Scotland, overlooking the Islands of Islay and Jura.

All our Beef and Lamb is guaranteed to be from animals born and bred here on the farm, by a small staff of dedicated stockmen who strive to produce meat of the highest quality.

We can supply the full range from the very best cuts to the most popular cheaper cuts. All prepared according to your requirements – fresh and ready for your table and your freezer.

What makes our meat so special?

All our animals are home reared. This means they have never
moved from the farm nor have they been bought from other farms. All our animals are fed a healthy and natural diet and we administer no unnecessary medication. We guarantee that our beef and lamb can be traced from the source to the table. There are only three people in the chain: the farmer, the butcher and you, the customer. We transport our animals to our butcher.

Our meat will take you back to the Sunday roasts of your childhood – tastes difficult to find today. But don’t take our word for it – try some and see.

Ormsary Beef

All our cattle come from Ormsary Farm, where they are bred, and finished for as long as the current regulations allow. Our cattle are grown till they are two years old to give a mature, flavoursome beef.

The cattle are bred from native Scottish breeds – predominantly Highland and Shorthorn.

Pedigree Highland Cattle have been bred on Ormsary Estate for more than fifty years and have a long record of winning prizes at many of the well-known agricultural shows.

For anyone who has yet to taste real Highland Beef, this will be a treat.

Highland beef has a beautiful rich texture with a covering of just enough fat to give the mouth-watering flavour you’ll recall from childhood.

Ormsary Lamb

Ormsary lambs are all born and bred on the hills of Ormsary Farm. Early in the season Texel lambs are carefully hand-chosen by our shepherds to ensure a quality product.
Later in the season, Blackface lamb – a more traditional Scottish breed - born on the heather clad hills of Ormsary, enable us to provide quality lamb throughout much of the year.
